"I spent years thinking my stories would stay in notebooks nobody saw."
I grew up with a book in my hands — Harry Potter first and hardest, then everything after it. I trained as an accountant, built a career on numbers, and told myself the writing could wait.
Then I became a mother. Somewhere between the sleepless nights and the small, stolen hours after bedtime, I opened my imagination back up. Detours, my debut novel, is what came out of it: the book I always meant to write, finished in the margins of a very full life.
These days I'm a mom to a toddler, a reader of anything with a well-worn spine, and — as of this edit — officially a working novelist.
